ABOUt GRITHOUSE
Renae Stevenson is privileged to live on the unceded lands of the Malahat people on Vancouver Island, Canada with her youngest son, and her two 4-legged kids. She is a retired municipal police officer from British Columbia. Her retirement from policing came early after two decades, due to an on-duty spinal injury and several operational stress injuries (OSIs). These were the catalysts to becoming a student of trauma, secular mindfulness, alternative treatments, and embarking on a long, humbling journey back to wellness. Along the way, she met some pretty incredible humxns. Through mindfulness and plant medicine, Renae manages these OSIs and complex chronic pain – with humility, with compassion and with curiosity. Once viewed as limitations, they are now recognized as gifts. These lessons were disguised as adversity but became portals to a new way of being, a new path, and a new network of friends, collaborators, and mentors she is forever grateful for. GRITHOUSE is an introduction to these amazing souls.
